Failaka Island
Failaka Island in Kuwait used to be called Ikaros in Hellenistic times, was renamed by Alexander the Great’s explorers who considered it similar to the Aegean island of Ikarus in form and strategic location.
This ancient heritage grounds IKAROS in history, identity, and cultural exchange built into its very name.
